The Mt. Sidney
Wastewater Treatment Plant is located south of Mt.
Sidney on Rt. 11. From Interstate 81, take Exit 235
and turn west onto Route 256. At the stoplight, turn
left onto Route 11 South. Go approximately 3.2
miles. The facility is located on the left.

Description:

The Mt. Sidney
Wastewater Treatment Plant provides wastewater
treatment for the Fort Defiance and Mt. Sidney
areas. The design capacity is 0.150 mgd. Preliminary
treatment consists of a Muffin Monster communitor.
The wastewater then flows to the influent flow
splitter box before entering three aeration basins
followed by secondary clarification (2 units),
chlorination and dechlorination. Effluent is
discharged to an unnamed tributary to the Middle
River. The biosolids treatment process consists of
aerobic digestion. Our Sludge Management Plan allows
us to use contract haulers for land application, to
haul the biosolids to Middle River WWTP or to use
the belt filter press for dewatering with the
biosolids transported to the landfill and mixed with
soil and wood chips for a soil augmentation program.
